Why Choose “WeLL!” Memory Playing Cards for ADHD Support?

1. Improves Focus and Attention Span

Memory games naturally require players to stay attentive and remember card placements, which can be especially beneficial for individuals with ADHD. By providing a structured activity that encourages focused attention, our cards help players practice maintaining focus in an engaging, stress-free way.

Key benefits:

  • Increases attention span gradually through gameplay
  • Encourages focus by reducing distractions
  • Builds concentration skills essential for everyday tasks

2. Enhances Working Memory and Recall

Working memory challenges are common in individuals with ADHD. “WeLL!” Memory Playing Cards support working memory development by prompting players to remember and recall the location of matching pairs. This practice strengthens their ability to retain and retrieve information, which is critical for daily life.

3. Promotes Cognitive Flexibility and Adaptability

Our memory cards provide a safe way to practice cognitive flexibility—the ability to switch tasks or approaches when needed. This skill is essential for adapting to new situations, and memory games encourage players to change strategies and think flexibly to find solutions.

4. Reduces Impulsivity and Builds Self-Control

Memory games require players to take turns, wait, and think carefully before making a move, making them a great tool for practicing impulse control. Through gameplay, individuals with ADHD can develop better self-regulation, learning to pause and think before acting—skills that translate into real-life situations.

5. Supports Task Completion and Goal-Oriented Behavior

Our memory cards create a clear, manageable goal (matching pairs) and encourage task completion in a structured environment. This experience is valuable for individuals with ADHD who may struggle with following through on tasks, as it helps them develop goal-oriented habits in a fun, positive way.

6. Encourages Emotional Regulation and Stress Relief

For many individuals with ADHD, emotions can run high, especially when faced with challenging tasks. “WeLL!” Memory Playing Cards provide a calming, playful environment where players can work on regulating their emotions in a relaxed setting. Learning to manage feelings of frustration or excitement while playing builds emotional resilience and stress management skills.

7. Strengthens Executive Functioning Skills

Executive functioning includes planning, organizing, and completing tasks—areas where individuals with ADHD often face challenges. Memory games involve short-term planning and task management, which help develop these essential skills in an accessible way.

8. Enhances Visual Processing and Pattern Recognition

Our memory playing cards promote visual processing and pattern recognition, which are key cognitive skills. By remembering and matching card positions and designs, players improve visual perception and learn to recognize patterns, aiding in both academic and everyday tasks.

9. Provides Positive Social Interaction and Teamwork

Playing memory games with others encourages social interaction, teamwork, and friendly competition. This social aspect is great for children and adults with ADHD, as it allows them to engage with peers in a positive way, fostering communication and relationship skills.

10. Flexible Difficulty Levels for Personalized Play

“WeLL!” Memory Playing Cards are adaptable for different skill levels, making it easy to tailor the game’s difficulty to suit each player’s needs. Whether someone is new to memory games or has more experience, they can enjoy the game at a comfortable pace that aligns with their attention capacity.

5 Ways To Play!

Memory/Match Game

1. Memory/Match Game

Place all the cards picture side down on a flat surface. The first player turns over two (2) cards. If the cards match, then all players say, “Very good” (with a loud hand clap), “Very good” (with another loud hand clap), “Yay” (with arms in the air in the sign of a V). The player then puts the matching cards to the side and turns over two more cards. If they match, repeat until they don’t match. If two cards do not match, then return them face down in their original spot, then all players put their hands up in the “I don’t know” gesture and then laugh gently. It is then the next player’s turn.

One Set Game

2. One Set Game

Choose one card color. For example, take out all the yellow “I am” cards and get them ready to play. You can choose the blue or pink cards. The point is to play with one color only. Place the cards picture side down on a flat surface. Turn over two (2) cards. If the cards match, then all the players say, “Very good” (with a loud hand clap), “Very good” (with another loud hand clap), “Yay” (with arms in the air in the sign of a V). Then you set your matching cards to the side. If the two cards do not match, then return them face down in their original spot, then all the players put their hands up in the “I don’t know” gesture and then laugh gently. For a longer game, you can play with two (2) color sets at the same time.

Speak-Out-Loud Game

3. Speak-Out-Loud Game

Place all the cards picture side down on a flat surface. Turn over one card, show it to the other players and read it out loud. Then all the players say, “Very good” (with a loud hand clap), “Very good” ( with another loud hand clap), “Yay” (with arms in the air in the sign of a V). Then you set the card to the side. Each player gets a turn until all cards are gone.

Group Talk Game

4. Group Talk Game

Play this game in a therapeutic or educational group setting. Place the cards face down. The first player picks one card and talks about it. They can talk about a memory, their feelings, or a wish they have. Put the card back where it came from, and the next player picks a card and repeats the process until everyone has had at least one turn.

One-to-One Talk Game

5. One-to-One Talk Game

This game is meant to be played in a therapeutic or educational setting. Hold the card deck in your hands and have the client or student choose one card. Ask them to read the card out loud and talk about it. They can talk about a memory, their feelings, or a wishful scenario that facilitates expression.
